Chettinad is a small village in the Southern Tamil Nadu State (Sivagangai) of India. Chettinad is known for its culinary delicacies and now is one of the many reasons why people get to know Chettinad.

Ganiyappa’s means traditional and true to its name, the recipes have passed and have been tried down from generation to generation and they have been used and changed to suit the present generation , keeping in mind to maintain the traditional methods fused with the latest technology to give a very tasty traditional food which is more like “Veetu Saapadu’. We daily grind all the authentic spices especiallyto bring the fresh flavor in Chettinadu Masala to make the authentic dishes such as “Oonsoru”, “Vettaikari” “Chettinadu Chicken” and “ChettinaduMutton”. Those are our signature dishes and their preparation takes over 6 hours.

It’s the practice of cooking rice with meat among the early Tamilians. There are records of a rice dish known as Oonsoru in tamil literature as early as the year 2 A.D. Oonsoru was said to be made of rice, ghee, meat, turmeric, coriander, pepper and bay leaf and this was used to feed military warriors in early days.
Man Paanai Meen Poondu Kuzhambu
It’s a traditional Chettinadu style fish curry that feels like a symphony on the palate. Fillets of fish cooked to melting perfection in a sweet and sour curry with Fresh Garlic domainated.. Highlight in this dish is way of cooking and serving will be in Traditional earthen clay pot (Man paanai)
